To make sense of the way images are found on this site, you need to know two
things: Each image can be found in at least two different
categories, and there are three categories that no image can go without—that
is, every image on the site can be found in one of these three categories.
The categories are: Black
& White, Colour,
and Sketches.
In addition, the Colour category has eight different sub-categories which an
image may be found in: Coloured
Pencil, Copic Markers, Paint, Crayon, Photoshop, Painter, Oekaki, and Bryce.
Below are descriptions of what you may find in each category, along with sample
images.
By Medium/Type | By Subject Matter | By
Date of Completion
Sketches

Images that aren't finished or don't look done are classified as sketches. Most
of these images are black-and-white and are usually done in pen,
pencil, or sketched in Painter or Photoshop. None of these are a requirement,
however.
Black & White

Images that have very little to no colour are considered black and white.
Images tend to be, but do not have to be, created using pen, pencil, through
the computer, or by a combination of these means. Images done in coloured ink
or pencil,
if they are still monochromatic, are classified as black & white images.
Colour

Images that have more than one colour prominently displayed in them are considered
colour images. Colour images can range from Oekaki (Java applet-based paint program
on the web) to Photoshop and Painter; from coloured pencils to markers to paint,
and any combination thereof. While all colour images are listed in this category,
many are also filtered even further in case you're looking for a specific type
of picture:
Coloured Pencil

Images fully or partially coloured with coloured pencil are listed here. Most
coloured pencil work uses Prismacolors, although there may be other brands
represented (which will more likely than not be mentioned when applicable).
Many pictures are combined with a Prismacolor Colorless Blender Marker (which
isn't generally noted) or are used to shade with Copic Markers (which generally
IS noted).
Copic Markers

Images using the super-expensive, super-frustrating Copic Markers are listed
within this category. Many pictures are combined with shading using the Prismacolor
coloured pencils (and it's noted when this is the case), but this is not
universally true, and many of the same results can be achieved through use
of the markers alone.
Paint

Whether it's acrylic, oil, watercolour, gouache, or poster paint... if it's
painted, it's here. Quite often, the only other medium that's used in a painted
piece will be sharpie or some other permanent marker, but this isn't necessarily
universally true.
Crayon

Or, Waxy Goodness. Images created using those boons of our youth, crayons,
are found in this category. More often than not, the brand is Crayola; if
it's something else, it'll be noted.
Photoshop

Probably my most often-used colouring medium, I've been using Photoshop since
2.0 was released (and my father's name was in the credits. Oh, how long ago
that was o__O;). Images on Wings of Love are usually created in either 5.5
or 8.0/CS, though I think some of the older ones might have used 4.0.
Painter

Many of my Photoshop pictures are digitally inked using Painter, simply because
I like Painter's lines a LOT better than Photoshop's, and there's an undo key
on the computer (hence why I don't tend to ink by hand). Occasionally, though,
I'll do a picture entirely in Painter, just because I can, and most of the
images in this category are created thus.
Oekaki

There's a shiny little java paint applet floating around that often doesn't
work on my computer. When it does, though, I use it. It's called Oekaki
BBS (occasionally I use the Paint BBS which is often found side-by-side with
the other), and it can be a somewhat liberating experience not worrying about
anti-aliasing or the lines being too blurry.
Bryce

Bryce is this handy little (well, not so very little) program that can do
3D landscapes. I used to use it quite a lot in backgrounds and the like,
often with the Watercolor filter of Photoshop fame run over it. Images in this
category are either entirely Bryce-created or their Bryce-created backgrounds
are prominent or easily visible.
Animated
(sample images here)
Whether it fits into any of the other subject matter areas or not is irrelevant;
this is where animated things go. Yeah, this category has moved =D It's now in
its rightful place as sort-of-kind-of by Medium/Type (instead of Subject Matter.
Which was a really weird place to put it, in all honesty).
Images are also arranged regarding their subject matter. Most categories are
broad generalizations—for example, if you're looking for pictures of men or
women. Each category contains (or has the potential to contain) images from
2001 and up, as well as sketches, black & white, and/or colour pieces.
Male

Most of the images that have males or men of any sort in them are here.
Female

If it has boobs, it's probably here.
Anthropomorphic

Sometimes called "furry" or "were" (I'm not getting very specific with the
nuances of this term, if you're wondering), this is artwork with humanoid animals
(or animal-ated humans?). I stretch this to apply to catgirls/boys (where the
only difference from a human is the ears and tail), so if you're looking for
those, this is where you would find them.
Non-Humanoid

Quite simply, things that are living (non-landscapes) but that aren't human or
humanoid (a la anthropomorphic). Dragons, Birds, 4+ legged things of various
shapes, sizes, and colours...
Aslua Studios

Artwork involving Aslua Studios and its projects. Generally speaking, most
Aslua Studios artwork features Aslua (or one or more of the Aslua Studios mini-mascots),
although crossover artwork (within the different Aslua projects) may also be
listed here. In addition, Aslua Studios has several sub-categories dedicated
to particular Aslua projects' art:
Bowspirit's Aim

Bowspirit's Aim is Aslua Studios' longest running comic (as well as being
my own personal one). It was started in November of 2002, but it goes back
much further, being traced
to its very beginnings in the summer of 1997. Needless to say, it has a lot
of art (most of my more popular and main characters are involved in it in some
way or another), as well it should—it's a huge project!
Xella

As a special bonus, I've divided every picture of Xellandria Dys'daera
(my 'net namesake and obvious favourite character) I have on Wings of Love
into a seperate category. But
hey, I'm vain, so I figure... why not?
Flow of Destiny

Aslua Studios' second largest comic venture (as well as the second to come
about, chronologically speaking), Flow
of Destiny's characters are not ones
I'm as attached to as Bowspirit's Aim's, hence why I draw them so much less,
I think. Which is no excuse, really, as I should be drawing the comics for
both oO;;
Desert Rose

I wanted an online novel. I had two popular, but as-yet unknown characters
(mainly, two early drawings of random people that blossomed, as many do,
into full-fledged characters). I used the as-yet unknown characters (Hydaen
Phoenix-an & Shiekar Kivjoru-Faeroan) in the online novel, which I called
Desert Rose. That rarely gets updated as I don't really write that often
^^;; Alas.
Shadows

Not really an Aslua project, but I wanted to put it with my other projects. This
is a short little one-storyline comic whose characters I'm rather enamoured with
for no apparent reason. Of course, I have like... no art from it, but that's
okay, because Shadows is cool even without art >>;
Miscellaneous Characters

Characters that don't have any real home are here (hence the "miscellaneous"
perhaps?). Also, portraits of friends of mine from real-life tend to be here
as well (for lack of any other place for them to go ^^;).
Fan Art

I don't tend to draw fanart very often. When I do, it's often of friends'
characters, though occasionally you'll get some Established Characters™ in
the mix as well. Anyway, this is the shiny section of characters who aren't
related to Aslua in any way, and belong to someone else besides.
Landscapes

Even less frequent than fanart is landscapes and person-less backgrounds (where
the background is the foreground, in essence). It's something I should do more
often, but I find just so~ boring~ that I can't seem to bring myself to do it
^^;
Tutorials

Occasionally, though not very often, I'll write a little how-to on how I did
something or how I generally do something. I suppose if there was more of a
demand, I would do it more often (then again, maybe not), but as of right now,
there isn't any demand at all, so I don't really do it at all ^^;
Collaboration
(sample images here)
Sometimes, I work with other artists to create gorgeous masterpieces (either
because I didn't draw it, or because I didn't colour it ^^;). Images of this
sort are collaborations, and will be posted here.
The final method of sorting—and every image is included
in this method—is by the date it was completed (or, in the case of in-progress
images, the date at which it was completed to the point it's at). You can access
a particular year or month by clicking on the sidebar at right, or access a
calendar with links to days there was art completed and posted (and the number
of images completed that day) at the Calendar
View (not
linked from other pages. If you hadn't noticed, that is).
